About Jim
I am running for State Representative in House District 46 to fight for the people of this district—working families, senior citizens, small business owners, farmers, teachers, and every Hoosier who wants a fair shot at a good life. Our communities deserve a representative who listens first, shows up, and puts people ahead of the politics of Indianapolis.
Education

I will make public education a priority by supporting fully funding our public schools in House District 46. Fully funding public education ensures that our local school corporations can retain highly qualified educators, reduce class sizes, and maintain aging facilities without relying on localized property tax referendums. In addition, I support eliminating state subsidized vouchers for our most affluent citizens.
Highway Funding

I will push to improve roads and infrastructure funding in House District 46. Poorly maintained roads represent an issue of safety and increase the response time of emergency services, risking the lives of the citizens of House District 46. But most important of all, I will oppose the establishment of making Interstate 70 a toll road which would add additional tax burden to workers, families, senior citizens, and small business owners.
Utility Reform

As your state representative, I will fight to make life more affordable for HD 46 citizens beginning with Utility Reform. This includes the elimination of the 7% state sales tax on residential utility bills. If eliminated, the estimated saving to most residential customers is about $157 annually. If you factor in households that use electricity, natural gas and municipal water, the savings climbs to about $350 annually. Do you know that these data centers are exempt from paying sales tax on their utility bills and on all equipment purchases?
Public Corruption

I will work to restore accountability and public integrity against public corruption in our state government. Super- majorities in the House and Senate have resulted in poor management and oversight of our tax dollars. Corruption in casino gambling, utility regulation, and state welfare privatization have resulted in convictions that were long overlooked.
What are your neighbors saying about Jim?
Steve P.
"Having worked side by side for a few summers, if anyone can get us back on the correct path in this state, it would be you Pittsford, this state is in a race to the bottom. It needs to stop!!"
Duane C.
"Jim is campaigning hard to break the strangle hold Republicans have on our state!"
John A.
"Having worked with Jim some as well as with his father and grandfather, I have known Jim all his life. I can honestly say that he is a very dedicated individual who once he gets his mind focused on something he does not give up. In my opinion Jim will represent the 46th district as a state representative with pride and integrity."
Kathleen R.
"Steady, loyal, lots of common sense and a good sense of humor. Smart and a skilled trades guy. Hardworking."
